To find your Australian size:

For women

Subtract 3 sizes from your Canadian/US size to get your AUS size. For example, Alicia typically wears women's Canadian/US size 9. Subtracting 3 means she will wear a Blundstone/AUS size 6. For some styles, if more width is needed she will wear a size 6.5 AUS. For the Dress Series, which can fit a bit bigger and are longer, she will wear a size 5.5 Blundstone/AUS.

For men

Subtract 1 - 1.5 sizes from your Canadian/US size to get your AUS size. For example, Ed wears men's Canadian/US size 10.5. His Blundstone/AUS size will typically be 9.5 for the Classic Series, but he will size down to 9 AUS for the Dress Series.

For kids

Subtract 1 size from their Canadian/US size to get their Blundstone/AUS size. For example, a child who wears Canadian/US size 1, will likely need size 13 Blundstone/AUS. This size 13 AUS will come with a small insert to temporarily snug up the footwear which allows you to remove the insert after some time when the child has grown and requires more room inside their boots!

How should a proper fit feel?

When you get your new boots, spend some time wearing them around your house to confirm the fit. Here are a few key points to be mindful of while doing so:

  • Your toes should have comfortable freedom. Please ensure you have ample room for your toes and toenails. Length is one of the most important aspects for a properly fitted Blundstone. There is a shaping cap in the toe area of all Blundstone footwear so the length of the boot will never stretch. If you notice your toes touching the front of the boots, they are too small! A finger width (or a minimum of ½ an inch) of space between the end of the foot and the end of the boot is recommended for a good fit.
  • Your heels will lift. You may also notice your heels lifting up and down inside the boots as you walk. This is normal, expected and preferred, even though it can feel strange at first. This lift should be slight, approximately 1/2 an inch. If it feels excessive, your boots may be too big. You can try snugging them up with the extra insert provided for you. If this does not work, you will need a different size.
  • They should feel comfortably snug. You new Blundstone boots should feel like they are firmly hugging your feet. This creates a personalized fit as the leather softens and forms to your feet over time. Too tight? Slight pressure on the top of your foot can be okay and will wear in over time but only if it is slight - never excessive. If you have a Classic Series, you can try switching the inserts to the thinner ones provided for you. If they are still too tight, you'll need a larger size. Too loose? You can try using both sets of inserts at once to slightly snug up your boots. These inserts are provided for fit adjustment. There are also heavier insert options available. If they are still too loose, you may need to size down or try a more narrow fitting model.

Tall socks are recommended to prevent any chafing/rubbing, especially when your boots are new and stiff.

Never wear your new boots outside until you are fully satisfied with the fit of them.

Sizing for Kids

Blundstone boots give kids ample room to grow while also keeping them supported and stable on their feet so that they can run and play with ease!

You'll find a pair of blue inserts in the box along with your new boots. Lay these on the floor and have your child stand on them. With their heels sitting nicely along the back ridge of the inserts, you will want to see about a thumbs width of length left over for growth.

If it looks like you've got the right size, you can put these inserts inside the boots and let your child try them on. Later, when they require more room in their boots you will be able to remove these inserts, giving more space inside. This frees up a whole extra size!
